We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have significant experience with mainframe systems and be proficient in COBOL, DB2, SAS, SQL, and JCL. This role involves developing, maintaining, and optimizing mainframe applications to support our critical business operations. The ideal candidate will also possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Proven track record of managing mainframe databases and developing mainframe applications.
  • Ability to understand and implement business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Significant experience on mainframe systems utilizing COBOL, DB2, SAS, SQL and JCL is critical
  • Developing, maintaining, and optimizing mainframe applications to support our critical business operations
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performing enterprise-level web applications. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze business requirements, and translate them into technical specifications. 
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using programming languages such as Java, Node.js. 
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging to identify and resolve issues or bugs.
  • Optimize software applications for maximum speed and performance.
  • Continuously monitor and enhance existing software applications, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing necessary updates.
  • Collaborate with database administrators to design and optimize database structures and queries.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.

Desirable Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Mainframe Developer with strong proficiency in COBOL, CICS, DB2, and JCL.
  • 12+ years of professional experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively. 
  • Platform Experience: Cloud, VMC 2.0, UNIX
  • Platform Experience: MVS
  • Experience with developer tools such as Endevor, TSO, CA7 Scheduling, and Service Now.
  • Knowledge of file transfer protocols and tools like EBX and TIBCO mailboxes. 
  •  Netron CAP, JAVA, Angular, Powerbuilder. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues. 
  • Certifications in relevant mainframe technologies are a plus.
